Beacon of Hope Counseling

Care for adults 18 and older, grounded in body awareness and nervous system health.

Beacon of Hope Counseling is the adult division of Kairos Counselings. We work with adults who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, chronic stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

Our care is somatic informed. That means we pay attention to what is happening in your body and nervous system as well as your thoughts and emotions. Many people find that this helps them understand reactions that never made sense on a purely “thinking” level.

Who we help

At Beacon of Hope, adults come to us for support with concerns such as:

Trauma and post-trauma experiences

Anxiety, stress, and worry that feel hard to turn off

Depression, numbness, and loss of interest in life

Grief and major life changes

Relationship and family stress

Chronic pain, tension, and sleep difficulties that connect to stress

You do not need a formal diagnosis to work with us. If you notice that your body and emotions feel out of sync with the life you want to live, that is enough reason to reach out.

Find a Therapist Who Fits Your Needs

Somatic informed psychotherapy

Our work is influenced by Somatic Experiencing and other body based approaches that recognize how the nervous system holds past experiences. In practice, this often includes:

Gentle body awareness

Noticing sensations like tightness, warmth, pressure, or movement in a way that feels manageable.

Mind body connection

Exploring how thoughts, emotions, and body responses show up together, without judgment.

Safety and pacing

Moving slowly enough that you can stay present. You are always in charge of what you do or do not explore.

Resilience building

Learning tools that help your nervous system return to a steadier state after stress, so you feel more able to respond instead of react.

Somatic work is always collaborative. You do not have to be “good at” body awareness for this to help. Your therapist will guide you and adjust as you go.

What sessions may look like

Sessions are tailored to you, but they often include:

  • Talking about what you are facing now and how past experiences may still be showing up

  • Learning simple regulation tools, such as breath, grounding, or movement that fit into daily life

  • Noticing where you feel activation or shutdown in your body and how that shifts over time

  • Making sense of patterns in relationships, work, and family life

  • Setting realistic goals and checking together on what is helping and what is not

You are encouraged to ask questions, name what feels uncomfortable, and move at a pace that feels safe enough.

Your role and our role

Our therapists bring training in trauma treatment, somatic informed care, and attachment focused models. Your role is to bring your lived experience, your values, and your own sense of what matters most.

We do not promise a specific outcome. Instead, we offer a steady relationship, a clear structure, and tools that support you in working with your nervous system rather than against it.
